IF YOU ARE SERVICING YOUR VEHICLE YOURSELF OR HAVING A REPAIR SHOP DO IT FOR YOU. HAVE THE CV & OR AXLE BOOTS CHECKED, AS RIPPED OR TORN BOOTS CAN CAUSE GREASE TO BE THROWN UPON BRAKE AREAS & SUSPENTION CAUSING PROBLEMS. AND ALSO WILL CAUSE DAMAGE INTERNALLY TO THE AXLE ASSEMBLY FROM LACK OF GREASE & LUBRICATION. THESE ARE SEALED UNITS.& THESE BOOTS WILL KEEP ALL DEBRIS OUT. THEY DO TEND TO WEAR OUT & GET DRY ROTTED. THE WARNING SIGNS CAN GO FROM GREASE CONTAMANATED ON CHASSIS AREAS TO NOISE ON TURNS & OR VIBRATION FROM THE AXLE & OR CV JOINT ITSELF BECOMING DAMAGED . MOST REPAIR SHOPS WILL SERVICE THE AXLE BY REPLACING THE DUST BOOT IF NO DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE TO THE JOINT ITSELF. REGULAR PRACTICE IS TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE AXLE UNIT WHICH MAKES IT QUICKER & OR EASIER PER SHOPS. AS FAR AS TIME FACTOR. BUT THE JOINTS CAN BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY OF THE DAMAGE. MOST MECHANIC ,TRANS SHOPS & OR FRONT END SHOPS WILL HANDLE THIS TYPE OF WORK.
